Step-by-Step Guide to Make a Bootable USB for Windows Server 2022
Once you have downloaded the setup file (Windows Server 2022 .iso), you need to make a bootable USB stick (pendrive) to carry out the installation.
Note: You will need a USB drive with a minimum capacity of 16GB.
The software you can use for this purpose is:
Rufus
- Download Rufus for free here.
- Scroll down and download the latest version of Rufus from the Download section.
- Insert the USB stick and then open the Rufus application.
- Click on Select and locate the Windows Server 2022 .iso file you wish to use.
- Finally, click on Start and wait for the application to create the bootable USB stick.
- When the process is complete (Prepared progress bar), click on Close and you will be ready to install Windows Server 2022.
Note: A popup window named Customize Windows Installation will appear, select option 3 Disable Data Collection and wait for the application to create the bootable USB stick.
